Its Truly exciting times in Marigot Bay St Lucia, the area’s Tourism product is developing at a staggering rate all in the hope of being completed before Cricket World Cup 2007. Extensive work is being done to Marigot beach including new vending huts, showers, sand, beach chairs, showers and toilet facilities. Other amenities which are being developed in Marigot Marina village are: bank, coffee bars, Supermarket, Clothing/souvenir shops, Car rentals, restaurants and much more.
 An agreement has been made with the Government of St Lucia to build a brand new 60 space car park which should be completed in late September 2006.

Marigot Beach Club is also taking steps to improve the hotels amenities by making several infrastructural modifications. World over Marigot Beach Club is known for the fine cuisine served from Doolittle’s restaurant, the hotel is now extending its kitchen to accommodate a pastry chef in order to boost the variety of its cuisine. To experience a taste of the Pacific right here in the West Indies the Big Bamboo Tiki Bar opens November; and for all you fish lovers the New Fish restaurant opens December.

 The hotel has also just completed an additional 2 rooms with plunge pool to boost its 25 room stock to 27 rooms and an additional six (6) rooms are presently being constructed. Over the last two years there has been several developmental programs to improve the islands yachting sector and stimulate yachting visits to St Lucia. In anticipation of increased yachting traffic,Marigot Beach Club and Dive Resort is also extending it's docks so that there is more access for water taxi's, day excursions from cruise ships and visiting “yachtees” . .This upcoming season we are offering new catamaran sailing tours for our valued guests.

World Cup Cricket

St. Lucia is one of eight venues in the region selected to host the 2007 Cricket World Cup organized locally by the West Indies Cricket Board. The event, scheduled to start in April 2007, will feature 16 world cup nations playing some 51 matches during the Championships.
St. Lucia has been awarded the Blue Package with four teams, including England, playing six matches on the island.

This week Cricket World Cup 2007 officials announced that more than 80,000 tickets ranging US $10 to US $300 dollars will go on sale as January for the event.

Friday, Cricket World Cup St. Lucia Inc sought to clarify the availability of tickets which will be based on a lottery system.

There are different categories of tickets starting out with the tour and travel tickets for visitors overseas which go on sale in January 2006.

The Chief Executive Officer, Ernest Hilare, says the ticket prices will be based on the seating at the ground and the match. For instance, the most expensive matches are those featuring the England cricket team which will play their matches in St. Lucia will costs as much
as 90 US Dollars while the cheapest tickets most likely for the preliminary stages and low ranked teams could be as low as 15 US dollars.
